About this service
Dr. Seitz provides anesthesia at fertility clinics, most commonly for transvaginal oocyte (egg) retrieval. These are short procedures, and intravenous sedation is widely used to keep the patient comfortable while allowing a prompt recovery and same-day discharge.
Depth of sedation is matched to the patient and the procedure, with continuous monitoring of oxygenation, ventilation and circulation, and readiness to manage the airway if the patient moves more deeply along the sedation continuum than intended.
Preoperative assessment covers medical history, medications, fasting and airway, and the plan accounts for the clinic's facilities and recovery arrangements, consistent with ASA standards for office-based and ambulatory anesthesia.
